ABOUT
Meg is an entrepreneur. An active practitioner of business ownership. The entrepreneurial gene is inherited; she is a fourth-generation business owner. In 2002 she and her husband purchased a hardware store in Solon Springs, Wisconsin. Over the last two decades Solon Springs Mercantile has grown considerably, not just in sales, but in new diverse departments, more employees and tripling in size. When working with other businesses she leans on her own experiences – both good and bad. The good times are fun to talk about, but the tough times are where she believes most lessons are learned. She freely shares her missteps in the hope that she can help other entrepreneurs avoid the same pit falls.
Meg is a Certified EOS® Implementer® She helps business owners shift from working in their business to working on their business so they can get the “important stuff done.” Meg teaches new tools, facilitates the process, coaches to get the best results to transform the entire business.
Meg is an experienced director. She has more than 20 years of service to boards of businesses and non-profits both. Her passion for effective governance is the impetus behind Back to the Drawing BOARD workshops, retreats and training. She helps individual directors and entire board teams understand their governing documents, roles, responsibilities and even how to decipher financial reports for maximum impact.
When Meg isn’t running a business, facilitating a meeting or serving on a board she loves to be outside. She and her husband reside on 160 acres adjacent to Wisconsin’s Brule River State Forest. Favorite pastimes include hiking with their dogs, gardening, biking and curling.
